GENOA SALAMI, ROASTED, TOMATO, SWISS & SAGE MAYO – $14

Stepping out of the summer sun  into the cool confines of The Wharf Pub at 3 Main Street in Edgartown is a respite in itself.  Still, it’s the fantastic food that  offers the biggest reprieve to anyone’s hunger pangs. It doesn’t  take long for tables to fill up will guest, great food, and cool beverages.

The sandwich aficionado  that I am, the Roast Chicken Panini was an obviously and spot-on menu selection. Piled high with tender chicken, flavorful genoa salami, aged swiss cheese, and roasted tomatoes, the two-fisted,  expertly grilled panini is topped with a spread of creamy sage mayo. The combination makes the taste buds sizzle and smile. Opt  for a generous side of creamy cole slaw, but golden brown French fries or tangy potato salad are  other options. Some people like  to be surprised when they eat  out, but many like and expect the  same. Whether you crave surprises  or sameness, you will always  get great food and service at The  Wharf Pub. I suspect I will order  the same Roast Chicken Panini on my next visit—which is very soon.
