Nikki Broeckelmann is a Florida native with a distinctly German last name that had to be spelled out for us several times (we still can’t pronounce it, can you?) Nikki moved to the Vineyard when she left a bar she was working at and her brother-in-law was managing one on the vineyard. Figuring she would get out of south Florida for a while Nikki moved to MV where she now tends the bar at Isola, an Italian restaurant with a friendly neighborhood feel to the bar located in Edgartown at old Post Office Square.
How did you get into Bartending?
I needed money…liked talking to people.. loved alcohol!

That’s a good one..hummmm..when I first got here it was a Negroni I don’t even know what that is ..but it sounds good.

The first was last night …and you know what I served him the second one is my grandfather on my father’s side because I never got to meet him and I would serve him a nice bourbon … and the third would be Margory (something I couldn’t make out) … she has done a lot for south Florida and she is a badass woman! I’d make her a Gin Martini, extra dry!

Oh god…where is this going? (laughs hard) uhh, half an ounce of toilet water, an ounce of fernet because I think its absolutely disgusting and the rest would be dry vermouth..something soooo gross!
