Tune into This Week on Martha’s Vineyard….the TV Show

by Diane Alter

The way news and entertainment are delivered and consumed continues to evolve. Print is still around although not in the same way as it was ten years ago. TV remains the go-to method for most, but smartphone apps and YouTube videos are increasingly taking over that medium and delivery is on demand. That said, one of the best ways to find out and see up close and personal what is going on This Week on Martha’s Vineyard and to get what you want, when you want it is to download the app, visit the website or to to the YouTube channel of the show “This Week on MV”. You can even catch the half hour show twice a day at 8 am and 8 pm on Comcast channel 189.

Produced by Vineyard TV, the show is an extension of this newspaper that has been delivering island news and seasonal updates via This Week on MV and thisweekonmv.com for more than two decades. Yet in keeping with the times, the publication has launched Vineyard TV and the show by its namesake in the spring of this year. Featured are lively and informative clips about places to go, people to see, and things to do while in MV. You will find short takes highlighting island chef ’s, where to find the best burger, places to go for best drinks, music and nightlife, activities, as well as some raw footage that is always entertaining. The show covered the Beach Road Weekend music fest, Martha’s Vineyard Concert series and the Martha’s Vineyard Comedy Fest and even streamed live from some events to its social media channels. Completing its first season this month, Vineyard TV and This Week on MV look forward to the many things that can be accomplished as the islands only Multimedia company.

Tune in this month for the final episode of summer 2019 and see for yourself… and smile, you just might be on camera.
