A Slice of Value at Edgartown Pizza

Danny Segal doesn’t want your arm or your leg. Most people visit the Vineyard with the expectation of spending substantial money, and this makes island life difficult for those on a budget. Dinner can cost upwards of $30 a plate in some places. Unlike other restaurants on the Vineyard, Edgartown Pizza doesn’t require you to surrender your favorite limb or take out a second mortgage to pay for lunch. With value, variety, and quality, Edgartown Pizza is always a welcome surprise.

Stitching the Halves: Annual Agricultural Fair Brings The Vineyard Together

0
Few activities on the Vineyard can claim to be purely ‘island.’ Among them, the Martha’s Vineyard Agricultural Fair sits as a proud testament to island life in its most distilled form. Held at the Agricultural Society’s headquarters in West Tisbury, the four day event is an island staple. The fair, lasting four days, will be open for its 153rd year this summer, and is sure to provide delightful times to all that attend. The fair represents the meshing of two different sides of an island split by cultures, seasons, and backgrounds. A summer resident and a year-round settler both come to the same , the tourist and the farmer both see the same cattle, and the summer and winter are both represented as the late summer heat points toward autumn, and with it, thoughts of frost and winter.

That Perfect Vineyard Flair

The Oak Bluffs’ harbor is the perfect place to spend an afternoon, rain or shine. You can stroll down the sidewalk and breathe in the salty air. You can rest on a park bench while you snap pictures of the sailboats waving in the ocean breeze. And you can find that perfect Vineyard keepsake that you’ve been after since you first stepped off the ferry. Appropriately named after its location, Dockside Jewelers has stood on the Oak Bluffs’ harbor for 28 years, in which time it has earned a reputation for offering some of the most iconic island souvenirs.

Rockin’ Food at Rocco’s

Rocco’s was an accidental island fixture. The owners planned on opening a pizza shop in Florida but found that real estate was more viable on the Vineyard. Owner Chris Pantalone says, “We opened on December 13th during a blizzard and we have been busy ever since.” It is easy to understand the appeal of Rocco’s. The atmosphere is charming, with seating both outside and indoors with views of the water, the prices are extremely reasonable for entrées like pastas and sandwiches, and the thin crust, freshly baked pizzas simply cannot be beat.
