Feeling lost or down and needing something to cheer you up? Crooked Coast will get you there, jamming original, upbeat hits for the summer.

Luke Vose, one of the lead singers for Crooked Coast, named classics influences from Kings of Leon to old school hip-hop artists like Biggie as the band’s musical muses. Crooked Coast was formed on Cape Cod in 2012. And they’re really, really proud of that. Being Cape-made, homegrown artists weighs heavy on the band’s mind. With this in mind, it’s no surprise that they have been performing on the Vineyard for three years. The band is composed of Vose and John McNamara on the drums.

In 2012, they released an album called The Crooked Coast that includes the songs “Ritalin” and “Down for the Count”. Since then, the homespun favorite released the album Wildlife, featuring the songs “Go Back” and “No Caroline”. Each song is unique and taps on a different element of their listed musical influences. Vose reported that Crooked Coast’s age range is diverse and that people from all different ages come to hear them perform.

The guitar hooks are similar to those from alternative bands from the 90s like the Spin Doctors or Third-Eye Blind. Simply put, the lyrics make you feel good. Upbeat and positive, the band’s music raises your spirits while tapping into themes of daily life. This is especially clear in the song “Go Back”, which reminds one of the past and previous lessons learned.

The local favorite is here to stay for the rest of the season so expect Crooked Coast to keep you jamming all summer long. Crooked Coast has made appearances at many local hotspots around the island like The Ritz and The Lampost, and have set up a residency at the latter, slated to be playing there every Thursday at 10:30pm, to be called Crooked Thursday’s.

On July 14th, guests of Crooked Thursday’s will be part of something epic. The visitors will have a chance to witness the filming of the band’s new music video. Hear their hits like “Go Back” and “No Caroline” live, to name a few. As an added plus, Crooked Coast will be performing their versions of our favorite pop hits like “DNCE’s Cake” by Ocean. Crooked Coast will also be performing on July 14th, July 21st, and August 4th at the Lampost. There is no longer any excuse to sit around on a boring Thursday night. Come to the Lampost and feel the Crooked Coast vibes in the air.
