Website is Now More User Friendly

In the digital age, so many newspapers are turning to the internet to provide more up-to-date information faster and This Week is catching up with the times.

Back in December, the husband and wife duo of Jay and Robin Harper started the redesign on This Week’s website, thisweekonmv.com, and officially launched the new site in March.

Jay and Robin own Mindlit Media, a company specializing in print graphics, logo designs, newspaper layouts, web graphics and stop animation commercials. Jay is a mastermind with the visual graphics – he recently designed commercial graphics that will be seen on MTV2— and Robin is unstoppable with computers, so together they make the perfect team for website design.

“We hope it will be a place that tourists and locals alike can come to find Island summer information all in one place,” says Robin.

The new site is formatted through WordPress and has features like Facebook and Twitter feeds, a variety of blogs, WMVY radio player, restaurant and travel tips and a calendar of events. “We wanted to provide more ‘real time’ information to help visitors find what they need and create more interaction with the readers,” added Robin.

The website is updated daily with information including restaurant specials and island activities ensuring everyone has a fun filled summer. Soon, they are hoping readers will be able to generate their own content with articles, pictures and videos. People can have to opportunity share their Vineyard experiences with other visitors.

This Week’s new website is a great way to connect with the island and plan ahead all the summer days.
