Offering a Vast Menu, the Wharf Caters to all your Cravings, Day and Night

The rising steam disperses through the air, uncovering the four dishes laying on the table. The savory aromas waft upward, tingling our nostrils and teasing our taste buds. The large, round white plates are comprised of a starter, two entrees and a salad. With more than enough food in sight, the feast is divine.

The leather booth is spacious and comfortable. Situated in the corner, the cosy setting provides a view of the back half of the restaurant, including the bar. As the evening progresses the restaurant fills with families and friends eager to place their order after perusing the vast menu.

The Wharf Pub and Restaurant is located on Main St. in Edgartown. The pub is home to locals during the early evenings and the restaurant welcomes customers for lunch and dinner every day. The Wharf promotes a family friendly environment. Offering a kid’s menu of chicken fingers, burgers, fish and chips and more, the popular restaurant welcomes large parties including children, often hosting wedding rehearsal dinners.

The selection of food tastes as great as the presentation looks. Underneath the lightly toasted, chunky burger bun lays the angus and linguica burger. Comprised of an eight ounce angus beef burger, american cheese and linguica sausage, the hearty burger is succulent and cooked to perfection.

The greek salad is a refreshing burst of goodness. Comprised of fresh crunchy bibb lettuce leaves, cucumbers, tomatoes, kalamata olives, feta cheese, and thinly sliced red onions, it is topped off with a delicious greek dressing lightly drizzled over the top. With additional house-made toasted pita bread on the side, crunchy at the edges and soft in the center, the salad oozes perfection.

The chowder fries are an experience. An ample portion of french fries immersed in house New England clam chowder, smothered with jack and cheddar cheese, topped with green onion and tiny pieces of chopped bacon. The fries are soft and succulent, having absorbed the flavor and juices of the chowder. The cheese adds a chewy texture to the soft starter, while the bacon and the onions add a crunchy after bite.

This unique creation is a favorite among customers at The Wharf, according to Mundt.

“It’s a cool bar snack, two good things mixed together,” he said.

Surrounded by littleneck clams, sliced linguica sausage, and roasted cherry tomatoes, the pan roasted cod sits on a bed of creamy mashed potato. Covered in a garlic tomato sauce, the flavors infuse together, creating a tasty, tender fish dinner. Portion sizes are substantial and customers get a bang for their buck, according to Mundt.

As evening turns to night, the restaurant converts into a small nightclub. With a selection of local live bands, cover bands, karaoke, a disco ball and dancing, the Wharf attracts a crowd of young adults from 21 to 30. The restaurant recently introduced ‘Pride in Paradise’, a theme night on Sundays for the LGBTQ community. The evening has proved to be a success among locals and tourists bringing in a large crowd, according to Mundt.

The Wharf also hosts comedy evenings, trivia nights and their infamous “Not Your Grandma’s Bingo” party. Whatever day of the week, the Wharf is a happening place to be with an event every evening.
Open year round, enjoy hearty portions of your favorite dishes with friends and family throughout the day, into the evening. With an expansive menu that stays consistent all year, you can guarantee that the Wharf will have something to settle your appetite. Have a drink at the bar after your meal or later in the evening and, as the nightlife begins to evolve, make sure to take your place on the dancefloor.
